Cheap Flight To Bali, Indonesia On Korean Air

I just got back from Bali, Indonesia and I can't say enough about the cheap flight to Bali I found on Korean Air.

The flight was cheap primarily because I bought it as part of a tour package.  The overall 9 day tour was only a little more than the price of a flight to Bali if I had purchased it on my own.

I flew on Korean Air from Chicago to Seoul, South Korea and then from Seoul to the Denpasar airport on the Indonesian island of Bali.

Yes, the flights were very long.  It was a 13 hour flight followed by an 8 hour flight.  This is why I am so happy I flew with Korean Air.  Each seat had its own video screen with interactive controls.  I could listen to music, watch movies, follow our flight path, play video games with my own controller, etc...  The movies could be listened to in multiple languages.  I watched lots of very new movies that weren't out on DVD yet.  I enjoyed watching the movies, but also enjoyed some of the short videos such as sitcoms, documentaries and news programs.

The food on the Korean Air flights was really good.  There usually was a choice between a "western" option and an Asian option.  I found the Asian options to be very good with spicy noodle dishes and some interesting seafood.  They served numerous meals and also came around with a snack box once in awhile.  From the snack box, I avoided the bags of chips and tried the mysterious cardboard box which ended up being a pretty good piece of pizza.

The first time we had dinner on the Korean Air flight to Seoul, we were offered some wine and my wife asked how much it cost.  The flight attendant wasn't sure what we were asking and we soon realized that the wine and cans of beer were free - or at least included in the cost of the flight.

My best flight was the return from Bali to Seoul.  I noticed a row of four seats with nobody in it even though the flight was pretty full.  Nobody ever came to the row so as soon as the seatbelt sign went off, I laid down and went to sleep.  That was the shortest flight as far as I was concerned.
