Everyone wants to know the best strategy for finding cheap flights.  I have bad news for you.  Just when you think you have found the best answer to the question, the answer will change.

In the past, the best way to find cheap flights was to call your travel agent.  Then we all got giddy over the fact that we could go to online travel sites and search for cheap flights on our own.  Then we got specialty sites such as Kayak.com that did a great job putting all of the flight information in one place.  Then we had other sites that got better at publishing flight prices while also showing us what days of the week had the best prices.

Now, some airlines are starting to pull their flight information out of the online airfare search sites.  Southwest airlines have never allowed their prices to be shown on other sites, but now other airlines are doing the same thing.  This means we really don't have a perfect solution right now for finding cheap flights.

The good news is that since things continue to change there is a chance that the perfect solution will come along someday.  Until that point, we will have to do our best to research airfares from multiple sources on multiple airlines for multiple dates.  Good luck!
