I have never been on a cruise before, but I'm open to experiencing this type of vacation.  I like the idea of seeing lots of different places without lugging my (and family member's) luggage all over the place.

My main goal now is to find the cruise line that offers the best value.  I hear a lot about Carnival Cruise Lines being a discount cruise option, but I also hear horror stories about crowded ships and sub par food/service.

I like what I have been hearing about Norwegian Cruise Lines, but they are a little more expensive.

I suppose it also matters which ship and destination I choose.  A newer Carnival ship might offer a better experience compared to an older Norwegian ship.  Although I have heard that one way Carnival keeps their prices low is by buying the old cruise ships from other companies.

Anyway, I have two toddlers so I most likely will end up on a Disney or Nickelodeon cruise.  Unless.... my wife and I can leave the kids with the grandparents for a week and go on one of the new all inclusive cruises being offered by the more luxurious Crystal Cruise Lines.

Please help.  If there are any budget travelers out there who can help me find the best value cruise line... I would really appreciate it.
